January 14, 2008, 11:26 pmIs winter over yet?
Really starting to miss driving the car. I had to take it to work a few weeks back because I had a wheel bearing fail in the Ram. Found out the tires on the car are SHOT and NEED to be replaced. I barely made it to work and the drive home was almost as bad.

I just want the snow to go away so I can drive my car again...

October 23, 2007, 7:11 pmGone
Well, I got tired of the Dakota and decided to make it go away. Traded up to another Ram. Now I have a '99 Quad Cab Ram. I'll make a new section for it later...

September 7, 2007, 9:29 pmIts here!
Taking the Daytona into the shop next week to have the scoop installed. Should be without the car for about 3~4 days. Also going to have them do a few other small odds & ends, like finish color matching the grey interior stuff to body color (the factory started it with the center console, I don't know why they didn't finish what they started...) and have them re-install the front lip spoiler (when I upgraded to the SRT front end, I didn't put it back on because I didn't have time to toy with it to make it fit).

Guess I'll get some good windshield time with Putz (and I'm going to fear every mile of it)...

August 28, 2007, 10:11 pmShaker scoop - ready to ship!
My shaker scoop kit should be shipping within the next 48 hours! That means I need to set up my appt. at the body shop for next week. I figure drop it off on Wednesday, pick it up Friday as the shop said they can get it done in a day and a half.

This has been one of the longest months... lol

August 22, 2007, 11:42 pmIn the shop
Well, PUTZ is in the shop. Too many things for me to fix on my own, and it was starting to get a little dangerous to drive.

Need to get the blower motor fixed, I dug into this and the motor works, the connections are all good, the resistor on the fan controls is good, so I don't know WTF is wrong with it.

The front suspension is broken. Not sure what exactly is broken yet, but for the last couple days, when making a left turn, it felt like the truck wanted to tip over - I'm thinking its a bad torsion bar or bad swaybar/mount.

There is also a SERIOUS battery draw issue, if it sits for more than 3~5 days, the battery goes completely dead. My guess is a bad voltage regulator...

And, if they have time, they'll fix the damn gas gauge. Stupid thing hasn't really worked since I bought the truck (almost a year ago). It worked on and off at first, but after doing some off-roading this past spring, its been stuck at the 1/8th tank mark...

Hate to take it in and spend $$$$ on it, being a winter beater and all, but it needs to get done. It'd have to be fixed anyway if I find something to trade it in on.

Now, I just hope it doesn't rain tomorrow so I can drive the Charger, w/o having to wash all the water spots off.

August 15, 2007, 7:33 pmShaker scoop coming
Well, needing to make my orange car stand out even more, I started looking around for something different. There is another car in the area (I know the guy who owns it) who has the same scoop, but its on a different model of car so I'm still being different. I found a shaker styled hood scoop like the one found on the old Hemi 'Cuda.

Quick photoshop of what it'll look like when done. (the scoop is larger than this, I just did a really, really quick 'chop job)
