Hello, my name is Nick Brouwer. This is my first blog ever, so don't criticize too much...
Well this week I got my car running on E-85. Wasn't too hard really, I just turned up the idle fuel pressure from 22-24 psi, to about 35, seems to run and idle pretty good.
I forgot to set the trip so I will not be sure of exact gas mileage this time around, but I am curious to see what it does.
The car is having some kind of fuel cut at WOT, I did not do it enough times to really figure out what is going on yet, just continued to drive it in a normal fashion and the car was good to me.
I am thinking that the #30 Accel injectors are not up to the task of the fuel needed to run the corn gas.
I have a ported out stock intake manifold and a fuel rail I modified to massage some stage 1 srt injectors in it. I don't have my #'s in front of me but they are considerably larger then the previous.
Have also noticed the smell of the exhaust has changed also, can't really explain it all that well, I only took a couple of sniffs.
But you can almost tell the thing is burning cleaner, besides the smell , the lack of black soot covering the drivers side of my rear bumper is also a good sign. That was really starting to bug me.
Well that is all for me today, will try to get some more done next week, they finally gave me a week off and I am going to try to work on the Neon some more.
Would love to hear your comments about the car, or what I have done to it over the last couple of years, drop me a line and let me know.
